Serenity ("we," "our," or "us") is a sleep, calm, focus, and ASMR sound application for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Serenity app (the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Listening Preferences: Your selected primary goal (Sleep, Calm, Focus, or ASMR), liked and disliked sounds. This data is stored locally on your device.
• Session Feedback: Whether a sound session worked for you. Stored locally on your device.

2.2 Information Automatically Collected

• Analytics Data: We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect anonymized usage data, including: app opens, sound categories browsed, session duration, feature usage, and general device information (device type, OS version, app version).
• Crash Data: In the event of an app crash, anonymized diagnostic data may be collected to help us improve stability.

2.3 Information from Third-Party Services

• Payment Information: Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through In-App Purchases. We receive only the subscription status (active or inactive) and product identifier. We do not collect or store your payment details, credit card numbers, or Apple ID.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service: Personalize sound recommendations based on your preferences and session history.
• Improve the Service: Analyze anonymized usage patterns to understand which features are most valuable and identify areas for improvement.
• Subscription Management: Verify your subscription status to provide access to premium features.

4. Data Processing Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase Analytics (Google LLC): Anonymized usage analytics. Data is processed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
• Apple StoreKit 2: Subscription purchase processing. Handled entirely by Apple in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Your preferences, session history, liked sounds, and listening data are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms. This data is not transmitted to our servers.
• Analytics Data: Anonymized analytics data is processed by Firebase Analytics on Google's secure infrastructure.
• No User Accounts: Serenity does not require account registration. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.

6. Data Retention

• Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or clear app data.
• Analytics Data: Retained by Firebase Analytics for up to 14 months, then automatically deleted.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request information about the data we collect.
• Deletion: Delete all local data by uninstalling the app. For analytics data deletion, contact us at the email below.
• Opt-Out: You can limit analytics collection through your device's privacy settings (Settings → Privacy → Analytics).

CCPA (California)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.

8. Children's Privacy

Serenity is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share anonymized data only with the service providers listed in Section 4, solely for the purposes described in this policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
